Process Orchestration
Coordinate and Optimize Every Endpoint of Your Business Processes
Process orchestration coordinates every step of a process across the people, systems, devices, and AI agents involved in it, including processes with complex branching logic that traditional automation could never hold together. It works with what you already have rather than replacing it.
What is Process Orchestration?
Process orchestration coordinates all the moving parts within a business process so it runs end-to-end: the system that holds the data, the bots, and AI agents that do the work, and the people who make the decisions along the way.
It also clears the obstacles that held back traditional process automation. Where older approaches left you with limited visibility, fragmented implementations, and processes too complex to automate at all, orchestration gives you transparency across the whole path, supports advanced workflow patterns, scales quickly, and keeps business and IT working from the same picture.
How Business Orchestration &
Process Orchestration Relate
You may have also heard of business orchestration. Business orchestration coordinates operations across your whole organization, connecting systems and processes and giving you analytics across all of them.
Process orchestration specializes in individual use cases like order-to-cash, onboarding, IT provisioning, and cross-system data flows. Business orchestration suits organization-wide change, customer experience work, and regulatory compliance. Most organizations end up using both.

Why Process Orchestration
How Process Orchestration Handles Your Most Complex Work
Plenty of processes are already automated in pieces. The hard ones are the processes that branch, that touch six systems, that wait on a person in the middle, and that fall apart when any one step changes. Orchestration is what holds those together, and it gives you visibility into where work actually is while it runs.
Enhanced Process Efficiency
Process orchestration coordinates automated and human steps as part of a single process, reducing bottlenecks and improving overall performance.
Greater Process Visibility and Transparency
Gain real-time monitoring of process performance and full visibility into end-to-end processes, enabling you to identify areas for improvement and simplifying your process execution.
Adaptability
Since process orchestration supports diverse endpoints and complex process logic, integrating new systems and technologies as your needs change is smoother and faster. You adapt on your own timeline instead of waiting on a rebuild.
Improved Collaboration Between IT and Business Stakeholders
Process orchestration fosters collaboration between technical and non-technical stakeholders, reducing communication silos and boosting the effectiveness of process design and planning.
Core Capabilities
Where Process Orchestration Fits
Process orchestration goes beyond the limits of traditional automation by integrating diverse endpoints, supporting advanced workflow patterns, and providing extensive customization options. It is also one layer of a connected, governed foundation rather than a standalone product: content management holds the content, document processing reads it, AI agents act on it, and orchestration sequences all of it around the people who make the decisions. Running those layers together is what makes an Agentic Enterprise. Our AI Optimization Team builds that foundation embedded in your team and keeps improving it after go-live, measured by the value delivered rather than hours billed.
Capabilities Include
- Endpoint Integration
- Advanced Workflow Patterns
- Real-Time Monitoring & Reporting
- Scalability
- Customizations
- Continuous Process Improvement
Endpoint Integration
Process orchestration connects everything a process touches, including your systems, your devices, your AI agents, and the people whose judgment the process depends on, so each step happens in the right order and nothing stalls between them.
- Ensure cohesive, harmonious automation
- Keep each task moving without manual chasing
- Coordinate systems, agents, and people across one process
- Make more efficient use of employees’ time and skills for greater productivity
Advanced Workflow Patterns
This technology supports complex workflow patterns, allowing it to automate and reliably execute your business processes with the most complex, intricate process logic.
- Supports complex workflow patterns like parallel execution, dynamic task coordination, and time-based escalation
- Eliminate technology silos
- Stop reliance on time-consuming workarounds stemming from systems that can’t support complex processes
- Gain visibility into process performance
Real-Time Monitoring & Reporting
Monitor process performance in real time and generate in-depth dashboards and reports. These insights will inform data-driven decisions and enable continuous improvement.
- Track your processes over time
- Gain dashboards and reports covering the details you care most about

Combine Technologies for Tailored Solutions
We solve complex challenges by finding the right combination of tools. – Orchestration, automation platforms, document processing, content management, and agentic AI are layers of one connected foundation rather than separate purchases, and running them together is what makes an Agentic Enterprise.
Featured Technologies:
Agentic Automation
AI agents that use your enterprise knowledge, data, and systems to take action across real business processes. Agents handle the reading, checking, and routing inside policy and guardrails you set, and your people keep the decisions.
Intelligent Document Processing (IDP)
IDP uses artificial intelligence to reduce manual effort and automatically extract unstructured and semi-structured data from various document types such as invoices, contracts, EOBs, claims, and forms.
Enterprise Content Management (ECM)
Connect your content and data to the core processes and systems your organization runs on, so the systems that need a document can reach it.
Process Orchestration FAQs
What is process orchestration?
Process orchestration coordinates all the moving parts within a single business process so it runs end to end: the systems that hold the data, the bots and AI agents that do the work, and the people who make the decisions along the way. It is built for processes that branch, wait, and touch many systems.
How is process orchestration different from business orchestration?
Process orchestration goes deep on one complex process, such as order-to-cash, onboarding, or IT provisioning. Business orchestration goes wide, coordinating across many processes and systems organization-wide. They are complements rather than alternatives.
Why can't we just use workflow for this?
Workflow handles a defined sequence well. Process orchestration is for the harder cases: parallel execution, dynamic task coordination, time-based escalation, and processes that touch endpoints workflow was never designed to reach. If your process breaks whenever one step changes, that is the signal.
What counts as an endpoint?
The systems, applications, devices, and services a process has to reach, plus the points where a person makes a decision. Legacy systems with no modern API are often the ones that matter most, because they are usually why a process could not be automated before.
How does it handle processes that need a human decision in the middle?
That is a designed step. The process routes to the right person with the context they need, waits, and resumes. Escalation rules cover what happens if it waits too long, which is usually where the real delay in a process turns out to be.
Can it work with the systems we already have?
Yes. Orchestration is built to coordinate existing systems rather than replace them, including legacy platforms, and to make adding a new system later a change rather than a rebuild.
