The ABBYY Vantage EDI converter skill gives you a lot of control over the type of EDI files that you can output the format or standard that we use.
But for this blog, we’ll be showcasing how a simple invoice flows through our process skill. To get a visual idea of how it’s done, follow long with the 2-minute video below.
How the EDI Connector for ABBYY Vantage Works
How the EDI Connector for ABBYY Vantage Works
1. Set Up Your Process
As you can see here in the video demo here, we started with the process skill: Input -> Extract -> Generate EDI -> Output. In this case, the invoice will be dropped into an FTP site, we will extract its details, and then we will generate that EDI file and then produce an output.
When it comes to that output and where we put that EDI file, we have a lot of flexibility and control. We can:
- Drop it on an FTP site
- Post that EDI file to a web service
- Drop it in another third-party system
2. Drop In Your Sample
But for this example, we dropped a standard sample invoice into ABBYY Vantage.
3. Pull Your EDI File
From there, were able to extract and pull an EDI file as you can see here.
So when we opened it, we got our EDI, in this case an 810 format, which we were using to ensure that we generated this format in a consumable format that would be compatible with the next downstream steps. That means that the EDI file has the content that’ll be necessary to continue the downstream processing.
And that’s how the ABBYY EDI converter skill works.
