Hyland is currently investigating an issue with Microsoft patch set MS15-056 that prevents the installation of ActiveX controls on client machines running Windows 7, 8 or 8.1. Hyland has opened a support issue with Microsoft to see if a change can be made that will allow ActiveX controls to be downloaded.
This issue affects any ActiveX control (not just OnBase) and affects the following operating systems:
- Windows 7 with UAC enabled
- Windows 8 and above
- Windows Server 2008/2008RT with UAC enabled
- Windows Server 2012 and above
MS15-056 is considered a critical patch by Microsoft. If you have it installed in your environment it may be necessary for you to directly install the ActiveX controls to your client machines if they are not already installed.
The OnBase ActiveX controls are available in the Client Side MSI installer package as well as a standalone MSI installer package upon request. Contact Naviant support if you need the MSI for your version of OnBase.
You can read more about this issue and receive updates through the OnBase Community Third Party Compatibility Blog.
