The Configuration Migration Utility has expanded since we first discussed it in 2011. If you haven’t looked at it yet, it’s a tool that you can use to quickly create test systems containing most of the configuration settings but none of the data. A Configuration Migration Utility license is required to utilize the tool. While this utility was designed to help you maintain consistency and safely promote changes between environments, there are several key areas that are intentionally not controlled by the tool and must be managed manually.
